I was slagging off drpete a while ago for not taking me anywhere. Well, this has all changed, as we've recently been to the USA. He had a conference to attend in Cleveland for a week, and then we went to Manhattan.

There's some pictures of our trip here . I've included the embarrassing one of me drunk, and the one where I made lots of friends at FAO Schwarz on 5th avenue.

drpete went to the Road Racing and Superbike show at Alexandra Palace yesterday. Needless to say he didn't take me, but he did buy a big red cover for his motorbike, and some pink goo to stop his helmet visor steaming up. He had real trouble getting there and had a long wait in the cold at Finsbury Park station for a train. Something about an inch of snow and the network grinds to a halt. I told him to take his hat and gloves, but would he listen?

I think he had a good time though. He said he met up with lproven, and several others he rides with from time to time.

I think I'd have liked to have seen all those new bikes, somehow a picture just isn't the same.

I was thinking about going to Mathias' party, but I don't know if paintball paint washes out of yellow fur, and I don't fancy being shot...

Happy New year to you all, now I've finally prized drpete and flickgc off the connection.

I spent New Year in London, because drpete forgot to take me with him when he went away, so I didn't get to hawkida's party.

Looked like you had fun though.

It was drpete's work xmas "do" tonight. Well. It started at lunchtime, and it's now 10pm. He seems comprehensively trashed, but that's just the opinion of an old duck.

She's really on the ropes this time. I was listening to bits of her speech on Radio 4 this morning while drpete and flickgc were getting ready for work. "I am sorry if I have embarrassed ...yadda yadda yadda... I would never want to harm anyone, least of all Tony or the Labour Government, or misuse my postion in any way"

An astounding piece of No 10 spin I reckon, and reading like a 4 year old's Christmas thank-you letter (remember them eh drpete?). I reckon it was topped by a chap John Humphries was interviewing yesterday morning, who reckoned she'd make a poor judge (and that she was "overdressed" but John Humphries quickly shut him up at that point). Can't remember who it was.

But I wouldn't would I? I've got stuffing in my head.

Hello. I'm Quackers. I'm a duck and I belong to drpete.

He and I have been together since he was very small. In fact, there was a time when he wouldn't go anywhere without me.

Not the case now sadly. I spend lots of time sitting on a shelf at his house in London. Not much to do there, but I have several others to talk to, including Tedward (who goes to many places with flickgc), Gus, Harry and some Beeblebears.

drpete did take me to the Beeblebears picnic this year, which was a real revelation for an old duck like me. Lots of toys to talk to in the sunshine, and I was pleased to make the aquaintance of ursinehenry and dougs. Lots of other LJ'ers were there. It was fun.
